Science Cheerleader and SciStarter: Uniting citizen scientists, hackers, and public policy makers.

Our sister site, SciStarter, (a site that helps make it easier for people to learn about and get involved in formal and informal research projects), *just* launched this contest with Instructables and Discover Magazine to formally start bridging the gap between hackers and citizen scientists:

And we are SO proud to share this report highlighting outcomes of a recent pilot project produced by an organization we co-founded (ecastnetwork.org) to bring regular people into important science policy conversations…there are additional citizen science elements at play here, too!:

Formal outcomes of this international project are being shared right now in India and the U.S. National implications will be shared on December 6, 2012 at a briefing at the Woodrow Wilson Center for Scholars followed by a Capitol Hill briefing early next year. Stay tuned.
