Joel Stein’s warped (and very funny) advice for the candidates.

Time Magazine and L.A. Times columnist, Joel Stein, tweaks McCain and Obama for not yet signing on to participate in the Science Debate 2008.  He provides some talking points for the candidates:

Health Care: “Give poor kids bionic healthcare. You don’t need to sell drugs when you can help the military with your jumping and running abilities.”Global Warming: “Each State of the Union address should begin, ‘Is it hot enough for you?’ which it will be, because you’ll demand no air conditioning everywhere you go. Also, it might be cool if you wore shoes actually made of carbon so people see your footprint.”

  • So funny – and so sad. It just goes to show how so few people get the significant impact of science on their daily lives – politicians included.
