Ada Lovelace Day is an international day of blogging to celebrate the achievements of women in technology and science. Born Augusta Ada Byron, but now known simply as Ada Lovelace, she wrote the world’s first computer programs for the Analytical Engine, a general-purpose machine that Charles Babbage had invented.
Ada Lovelace Day is organized by Suw Charman-Anderson, with design and development support from TechnoPhobia and hosting from UKHost4U.
Here’s a timely report assessing why women are underrepresented in science and math fields.
And here’s a shout out to our procheerleaders-turned-scientists and engineers!
